Research is fundamental to the mission of Partners HealthCare. The research enterprise, which covers the spectrum from basic science to translational and clinical investigation, accounts for nearly $1.2 billion of research revenue.

Partners Clinical Research Office
Partners Clinical Research Office (PCRO) is responsible for developing, negotiating, and executing agreements and budgets for industry-sponsored clinical research for Partners affiliates.
Partners Human Research Office/Partners IRB
The Partners Human Research Committee (PHRC) is the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Partners Research Management and must approve all human-subject research conducted by a Partners-affiliated investigator.
Human Research Quality Improvement Program
The Partners Human Research Quality Improvement Program provides ongoing support to the clinical research community through on-site reviews, audit preparation, review of minimal risk studies, annotated study binder visits, informed consent monitoring, and more.
Partners Research Computing (PRC) enables research and promotes the accessibility of technology and shared services to individual researchers. PRC directly supports the research communities of each Academic Medical Center within the Partners environment with applications, informatics, assistance, and infrastructure for the nearly 10,000 investigators and research support staff.
Research Ventures & Licensing handles a wide range of responsibilities relating to translational research and the management of intellectual property and its associated institutional policies. The group provides investigators and administrators with guidance on commercialization and related opportunities, including intellectual property, material transfer agreements, marketing, licensing, start-up viability, and business development.
The Partners Research Compliance Office supports the research mission of Partners and its affiliates. This Office is a component of the Partners Compliance and Business Integrity Department, which promotes adherence to regulatory requirements and supports the development of ethical business practices throughout all of Partners.
The Partners Research Applications Group is responsible for supporting the administrative systems required to manage Partners biomedical research portfolio. The group’s sponsored applications provide the core features necessary across research management – human studies oversight, grants and contracts processing and animal program management.
